Farewell September, welcome October….

Attention everyone in the Herefordshire area! Ellice is playing a gig with XL5 backing her for the show. She will be appearing at Foodfest on the 27th of October. See local press and publicity for timings and details.

Ellice says, “I’m really excited about the Foodfest as it’s my first ever performance fronting a (fantastic!) live band (thank you SOOO much XL5 !!) My set will be a mix of originals and covers. My first free download single release, “I Wanted To Believe You” can be downloaded here on my page at Little Room, and the video is on YouTube. This is a thrilling time; I’m recording my new  EP and working with such a great team of people – David Clifton at Little Room Recordings, Paul Kingston (songwriter), Nick Fisher (mastering genius!!) and Dave G, Tom, Clive, Vinnie and Dave R of XL5. I look forward to a great show and seeing everyone on October 27th. Luv, Ellice”.

September, I’ll remember……

It is the 1st of September, and today we release a 5 track EP/CD of folk songs by David Clifton. Gentle acoustic songs, along with a lively mandolin instrumental. Head on over to his page and have a listen.

In other news, Ellice is completing the last few vocal harmony parts for her new EP, and once everything is finished it will be mixed by Nick Fisher. It’s due for release later in the autumn. Watch this space!

Gabriel Osborne, our trusty Publishing & Registrations Admin. manager will soon be back in town. If you have sent him an enquiry or message regarding library music opportunities & have not yet received a reply, please be patient and he’ll be in touch with you soon.

And finally. Rest in peace Hal David, inspirational lyricist, who died today.

August, die she must…..

…..the Autumn winds blow chilly and cold. But not just at the moment; it is warm and sunny in England for a change, and warmer and sunnier still in Tennessee.

The Little Room team have packed away their buckets, spades, towels and sandy beachwear, and are getting down to business. Preparations are underway for the release of the new EP from David Clifton, titled Old Sea Road, on September 1st. It will also be available in CD format as well as digital download from iTunes and leading digital stores worldwide.

In other news, music from The LR Library has recently been featured on two national USA television channels, and a new Library Music album will soon be ready for all you Commissioning Music Editors to listen to and download from Auralation. Also, finishing touches are currently being put to Ellice’s EP, which is due for release later on in the Autumn.

Special thanks to all of you for visiting us here at Little Room.

……and give no warning to her flight.

The Olympics have overtaken London, and the Little Room team are cheering for Great Britain  – and the USA, of course…. Gabriel is shouting loudest for the USA!

A quick update on musical things for you all.

Phil Baggaley has been putting the final finishing touches to the new recordings which will form the basis of Rosie Meek’s new EP, soon to be released through Open Road Music. They are still basking in the success of their Isle Of Wight festival appearance this summer, and have nearly dried out their clothes and musical instruments.

David Clifton’s new EP, Old Sea Road, is now manufactured and ready for release on September 1st. It will be available as a limited edition CD/EP by mail order, and for download on iTunes as well as here on the Little Room site.

David also played guitar for Julia Fordham’s sell-out run of shows in London. Julia will be back soon if you missed her this time round. Judith Owen made special guest appearances, with one memorable highlight being a jazz rendition of Spinal Tap’s favourite song…..you can guess which one… with Derek Smalls on bass (….Harry Shearer, Judith’s husband, who was in town) Judith sang sultry and hilarious lead vocals.

And on the subject of the Olympics, David’s cousin (James Pickford…drummer and percussionist) made an appearance in the outstanding opening ceremony, appearing around the world to a billion people or so for three close-up seconds!

What We Did On Our Holidays…..Esther went to France with the family, but didn’t meet up with Katie, who was also in France (Marseilles) recording more dance tracks before travelling back to Hong Kong; Phil Baggaley is up in the wilds of wonderful Scotland; Andy Piercy is in France after heading up the morning band at HTB Focus week; Charlotte packed buckets and spades (and the girl’s favourite princess dresses for her two daughters) and headed for the beach to make sandcastles; David was playing sparkly Gretsch guitar for Andy at the Focus week, and is now travelling in England; Mr. Don is being highly creative in Devon; Paul is off to Wales, and we are waiting for postcards from Ellice, Ian and Adrian. And we are all waiting for some more sun!

The Little Room team, helpers and assistants wish you all the very best of holiday fun.

Gabriel, Sarah, Adrienne, Cameron, Anne, George and David.
