Here is the Christmas 2025 Radio Single!
‘Wouldn’t It Be Lovely’ was released to all digital sites on the 1st November and promoted to 35,000 radio stations around the world. It is track two from the album ‘The Tree In The Wood’ by Charlotte Smith and David Clifton, and was included in their album of folk songs as a nod to the timeless beauty of the music and heart-felt lyric.
“We’ve decided to release ‘Wouldn’t It Be Lovely’ as a Christmas single to promote the album, primarily because it’s such a beautiful song; I have always felt it is destined to become accepted a traditional folk song” David told Marvin at iPluggers. “I personally think (and others may disagree) that the version in the film of the musical, and the stage performances from all those years ago, never quite captured the essence of the song and its heartfelt message of longing for love, and the comfort of a loving home. The delivery always seemed rather flippant and casual to me. So I re-arranged it, and fortunately Charlotte loved the re-imagining and new interpretation of this truly classic song, so we have included it in our album. It was written by Frederick Loewe and Alan Jay Lerner. and I hope we have done it justice!”
Best wishes to you, wherever you are, for a very Happy Christmas, this year and every year!
David and Charlotte.
